Shri Sujay Sengupta

The Learned District Judge, Nadia, was born on 10th January, 1969, at Kolaghat in Medinipur (presently East Medinipur). He obtained his LL.B. degree in 1992 from Hazra Law College under the University of Calcutta.

He began his legal practice in January 1993 at the City Civil Court, Kolkata, specializing in both civil and criminal law, and continued there until February 2000. He joined the West Bengal Judicial Service on 1st March, 2000, as a Civil Judge (Junior Division) in Asansol and was subsequently posted in various district and subordinate courts across the state.

He was promoted as District Judge on 19th June, 2023, and was posted as District Judge at Purba Bardhaman. Thereafter, he was transferred to Krishnanagar and assumed charge as District Judge on and from 27th February, 2026.
